Since the summer of 2018, AYLUS members have been teaching chess to children in the local community, led by advanced players Baron Niu and Aaron Wu. They not only covered chess tactics but also incorporated fun activities into each class. Classes were held both at students' homes and in public spaces. As Baron and Aaron graduated, junior members like Marc Lu, Jordan Zheng, Joshua Meng, Brendon Jiang, Daniel Zhang and others stepped in to keep the engaging chess sessions going, with some instructors being former students from our summer chess camp.
Through our efforts, an increasing number of kids in the community have developed an interest in chess and enhanced their logical thinking skills. Over the years, several of our instructors have achieved National Master or Candidate Master status, while some students have participated in local and higher-level chess tournaments. We remain committed to fostering this exciting development in our community.
